Positive Mindset and Prayer

Let me start by saying prayer is a communication between you and God. The word communication is key here because it means you talking to God and God talking back to you. Communication is not complete if after talking to God, you don’t hear back from Him. Just as the main aim of a telephone is to call and hear or receive answers, so is the importance of prayer.

Prayer is also talking or making a petition to someone that you are sure can give you the things you desire. From the above, a positive mind set talks about having believe or trust in the one that you are making petition to. Confidence in the ability of the person to deliver can be termed as faith. If you think of it well, you will realise that you ask people for various things based on how much you perceive they can perform.

Therefore, when you go to God in prayers, you must believe that He has the capacity to deliver those things as you have prayed.

Jeremiah 33:3
Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and shew thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not.

1 John 5:14
And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us:

Matthew 21:22
And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive.

Prayer has the power to change things if your faith is in place. Each time you pray, God answers but most times we don’t see the answers because of lack of expectation. When you don’t expect answers from prayers, you won’t know if and when God has responded. A positive mind set prepares your mind for the answers before you even begin to pray.

Prayers must be prepared for. It is a conversation in form of a petition to the one that you have confidence in to bring to pass those things you are requesting for. Which is why before you go to God in prayers, you must be prepared with strong reasons why you should have the things you are asking for.

Isaiah 41:21
Produce your cause, saith the Lord;
bring forth your strong reasons, saith the King of Jacob.

Praying without result is frustrating. If you have proofs, people will believe your prayers without having to tell them. I learnt from a friend the importance of praying for everything that concerns you. According to her, she had some problems with her boyfriend and she said he prayed for her to have a change of heart towards certain issues that always brought problem to their relationship. What I learnt from this was that I must not be ashamed to talk to God no matter how small it sounds if i claim to believe Him.

Sometimes we struggle with challenges because we are ashamed or we refuse to talk to God about it. We assume that God knows or we don’t want to disturb God with little things. One secret you must know is that God is interested in every department of your life. Let’s imagine this real quick, as a fine gentleman, you are very interested in how your beautiful woman is per time and vice versa. Then now imagine how much the One that created you is interested in how you feel always.

You must take personal responsibility for the open heavens over your life because the year 2019 must open up to you. As you have started this year, organise the seconds, minutes, hours, days, weeks and months through special conversation times with God on the outcome of everyday.

2 Chronicles 27:6
So Jotham became mighty, because he prepared his ways before the Lord his God.

Revelation is great but you must put the revelation to work. Lemme help you start with this prayer point but make sure you create your own prayer book for the year.
Father in the name of Jesus, cause the heavens over my life to remain open al through 2019.

Finally, I know the Bible says the prayer of a sinner is an abomination, but let me explain this better to you in line with our discussion. As you can decide whose call to pick and others to ignore, so does God decide who to answer and other to ignore. Being born again is not to add to the population of a church but instead it’s to include your name to God’s family.

2 Timothy 2:19
Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his. And, Let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity.

Lord Jesus, I come to you today as a sinner, save me and deliver me from the works of sin and satan. I accept you into my heart as my Lord and Saviour. Thank you for saving me. Amen.
