The Value of my Mouth

It’s nice to share some new thoughts with you especially following my last post on “Secrets of my Life”. I tried to elaborate the place of “God’s leading” in my life the past few years. I had a chat with several people afterwards and the answer to the questions that were asked is hearing Gods voice is good but maintaining that voice in your life is even better. It is easy to learn and know God’s voice when you have constant conversations and relationship with Him.

Today, I’ll like to share another secret that is most times overlooked. In recent times, I started appreciating the Value of my Mouth in the place of my glorious destiny.

Have you ever wondered why everyone has their own mouth? Humorously I know you might respond saying, “to eat and talk”. I completely agree with you but that is just a fraction which is very important. In my little research from the scriptures, I have discovered that the mouth is a channel through which you express wisdom.

Luke‬ ‭21:15‬ ‭GNB‬‬

“because I will give you such words and wisdom that none of your enemies will be able to refute or contradict what you say.”

Wisdom simply explains the right and acceptable way of doing things. So wisdom here talks about knowing what to say, how to say it and when to say it.

It amuses me today when I hear a person say that God does not answer prayers. Remember that from my previous post, to communicate constantly with someone, you need to have a basic relationship first. So if God doesn’t seem to answer your prayers, examine yourself to know if you are honouring the terms of relationship with Him.

I have asked a few persons and I have discovered from their responses that they use their mouth to stop the answers from coming their way. You might be wondering what I mean so I’ll try to explain in very clear terms. Part of the reasons you pray to God is for your needs to be met and this is because you trust that He can perform exceedingly beyond your expectations. Ephesians‬ ‭3:20‬ ‭KJV‬‬. That scripture is an absolute favourite for plenty people but interestingly, their actions simply contradicts their love and excitement from God’s word.

Your disbelief in the reality of your expectations tells God that you don’t believe He has the capacity to deliver. Several people start doubting His ability to deliver. So how do you now expect Him to deliver when you don’t even have trust in His abilities? We always seem to forget that God can see our thoughts the same way He hears our words (Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think…..). Please take note that when praying for the leading of God, don’t allow your thoughts or words to betray the quality of answers to your prayers.

Another reason why God gave you a mouth is to manifest in full the nature and abilities of God. Gen 1:26 God created you and I in His image and after His likeness. God used his mouth to create the whole world and then skilfully created man. Why did God give man the responsibility to name all the animals? The reason is because he wanted to validate the thoughts and words of man. After Adam did all that, God was pleased that is why He didn’t need to rename any animal. After all of that, God said man should have authority over all that was created. A major way to express your authority is through the words of your mouth.

When the purpose of a thing is not fully known, the value of that thing will not be fully utilised. Think with me, since you started complaining, has it ever improved the situation? The answer is a big NO if you are honest. Your complaining will always complicate the issues, spoil your mood, get you under pressure, wasted your energy and so on. Instead of complaining start speaking the positives you want to see.

Romans 4:17

(As it is written, I have made thee a father of many nations,) before him whom he believed, even God, who quickeneth the dead, and calleth those things which be not as though they were.

The mouth has the power to create anything that the heart has seen.

Luke 6:45

A good man out of the good treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is evil: for of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaketh.

In conclusion, Be careful the words that come out of your mouth because your words can bring motivation and even encourage your mind to be creative. Negative situations will always come but following Gods leading will empower you to speak like God. As long as you are worried and feel troubled, the antidote is to pray more and declare Gods perfect will concerning your life.
