Projection for Progress

My wonderful friend, few weeks ago I shared some thoughts that centred around the “Value of Gratitude”. In that write up, I shared that thanksgiving will put smiles on your face, joy in your heart and opens the door to creativity for better outcomes. Also I pointed out that complaining dries up the source and corrupts the blessing.
Going a step further especially in this year that God has promised would be better than last, after giving thanks for the things that happened in the past, you need to draw up strategies to make sure that your thanksgiving will be more at the end of the year. This means that you must draw up plans to make sure that the year will be a year of smiles and all round progress. We will take a look at Projections for Progress.

Projection is talking about having foresight of what you want the future to look like for you. This is more than new year resolutions which you may have made for several years of your life. What makes projections for new beginnings superior to new year resolutions is putting plans to paper and drawing relevant strategies as well as putting targets to ensure accomplishment. God has promised that when you have foresight which can be called vision, it is the first step to achieving great things.

Jeremiah 1:12

“…Thou hast well seen: for I will hasten my word to perform it..”

Projection without plans for accomplishment is simply a dream or a wish. It is popularly said, “if wishes were horses, beggars will ride”. This is true because a lot of people talk so much and do so little to accomplish all their talks. Talk without adequate actions for accomplishment will make you look unserious. Please pay attention to this, In making projections and plans for new beginnings, beware of fear because it will limit the level of creativity and outcomes. What I’m saying, in essence, is talk big just as God created you but also be ready to work hard just as God did. Don’t just stop at talking the talk but go a step further in walking your talk. An example of projection is buying a house and the action involves you making savings today for that plot of land you intend to buy or you have projected to start a business before the year comes to an end and the action making savings and also seeking for how to register the company and looking for a place to execute your business. Also personal development this year is a projection and the action is having a self-assessment to know the areas you need improvement and the things that will help your goal of personal development.

I have discovered through conversations with several persons that the problem is not drawing plans or making projections but the problem is the knowledge and self-belief in their ability to deliver. Knowing who you are will naturally develop confidence in your abilities no matter the circumstances placed on your way. Many people doubt and disqualify themselves from glorious opportunities without even making an effort. I told someone a few weeks ago, “allow yourself to make an attempt and fail before you complain because there is a high chance that you will not fail”. My lovely friend, I have told myself that anytime I don’t do well, it’s because my level of capacity is low and I need to make improvements.

Proverbs 24:10

If thou faint in the day of adversity, thy strength is small.

It is not bad to fall but what is bad is falling and remaining on the floor.

Deuteronomy 28:13 “…and thou shalt be above only, and thou shalt not be beneath…”.

I agree picking yourself up from a fall can be difficult but if you block the noise and comments of people, it will make raising yourself up much easier. When you fall, it means you are under construction and you will agree with me that every construction site is not as appreciated as the finished product. So don’t focus too much on what people say because they will be the same people to sing your praises when your building is fully completed.
My counsel to you is, believe in yourself because it will motivate you to keep making progress in the fulfilment of your targets. When you doubt the abilities placed in you by God, you automatically limit yourself from the manifestation planned by God.

Romans 8:19

For the earnest expectation of the creature waiteth for the manifestation of the sons of God.

At this point, I urge you must beware of people that will stab your vision with their words and actions. Likewise, you need people around you that will help nurture and blossom the wonderful seed of vision for the fulfilment of your destiny.

My wonderful friend, Stop looking backwards because the glory of your life is not in the things that have passed but in the things yet to come. Progress involves forgetting the things that have passed and drawing strategies to achieve greater things. Don’t get me wrong, it is good to take notes and lessons from the things that have happened in the past but don’t allow those experiences determine the level of success you attain in the future. My last post focused on recounting things that have happened but it will interest you to know that those that recount the things that have happened in the past are in most cases motivated to create better experiences.

In conclusion, Every success that will endure must begin with adequate preparation that involves prayers and most importantly fastings.

Luke 14:28

For which of you, intending to build a tower, sitteth not down first, and counteth the cost, whether he have sufficient to finish it?

Progress involves and intentional effort. It is popularly said that “the journey of a thousand miles begins with a step”. Constant prayers will give you the opportunity to catch the vision and fasting will help you draw plans which will help you build a strong foundation for your wonderful destiny.

Psalms 11:3

If the foundations be destroyed, what can the righteous do?

Disqualifying yourself rubs you off projection then tell me how planning will take place? Planning without projection is possible but your journey will be longer than expected.
Therefore my friend, don’t give up or disqualify yourself from opportunities that come your way because that is you closing the door to your change of level.

  1. Hmm. Really inspiring. Some lessons learnt are:
You cannot really project without Vision i.e having a foresight, foreknowledge of your expected end.
Thanks for this wonderful piece Sir.

  2. Real Gems 💎
    Thank you for sharing!
It is true that when we give in to fear and disqualify ourselves from opportunities we will never know the outcome.
We should really think “what if I fly” as opposed to “what if I fail”

  3. Pastor Dan,
    This is truly timely.
Thank you so much for always sharing wonderful and spirit filled words from the throne of Grace.

    Well done sir.
This is a MUST READ FOR EVERYONE,
    ESPECIALLY THIS SEASON.

  4. Thank you sir for this mind-blowing insight….. The journey of life requires adequate preparation, and this is a major necessity to arriving at your destination.
There must be a mental picture of a preferred future. Nobody arrives to a destination unprepared and unplanned unless the destination does not worth it… Everybody is moving but are you moving towards the right direction. In order not to end a journey as a casualty, projection is a critical requirement.
    SHALOM

  5. I like what you said about projections and also having strategies. I see strategies as keys and even the Bible says” i will give you keys 🔑 to the city” but you also have to “ask”. In conclusion, we are to write the vision plain on paper.
Thank you for bringing these thought together and for helping us strengthen our faith for the year ahead.

  6. This is really God sent to me specifically! The right word for the season 😁. God bless you for allowing yourself to be used by Him.

  7. Another great piece!
Beyond making plans in the mind, we must put the right strategies required to give life to those plans!
Thank you for sharing this again, Great one!
